DeepSeek AI has now launched its AI model into the world markets, which is open-source and is available to use for free. Such is the widespread popularity of DeepSeek R1 at the moment, that even OpenAI’s ChatGPT is feeling the pressure of it in the Apple’s App Store ratings. As per reports, DeepSeek AI will be launching more of its AI models in the coming days, and all of them combined will take the AI industry in the United States by storm.

New AI giant in the market, here’s how the US is responsible

Already US investors are shocked by the sudden low-scale, low-cost production of an AI model in China, that reportedly took a lot more money to build in the US. This has made them question the future and profitability of AI in the United States, and if this AI race would soon be overtaken by China. However, reports are suggesting that the United States may have had something to do with this AI monster, DeepSeek.

Did US inadvertently become the creator of the AI doom?

Firstly, the US tried to limit China’s AI development by imposing export limits on semiconductors. This left China with no choice but to work with limited resources and make the most of whatever they had. This could have fueled the innovations behind DeepSeek as reports say that the company used many basic Nvidia semiconductor chips to train their AI model, and therefore, the cost of the model production was so low.

FAQs:

Yes, reports claim that DeepSeek’s top-notch AI model was designed and trained using basic Nvidia semiconductor chips.

Is DeepSeek’s AI model free?
